A New Beginning…
A seed in earth is hidden out of sight
But One is there who sees it clear as day.
He shaped it as a potter moulds his clay
And gives the plant a yearning for the light:
The sinner sees her past and feels ashamed
(A fruitless chasing after earthly bliss;
But fleeting pleasures wane to guilt’s warm kiss)
A soul that Satan hopes is left unclaimed.
Despite the tangled weeds that round her wind,
The Gard’ner helps the strangled seedling grow.
He gently pulls away the sins that bind
And tends to her with hands both strong and kind.
With chains released,
the captive’s free to go,
And flowers bloom -
now joy is hers to find.
